The Crawford County Virtual Learning Center offers a personalized learning experience for high school students and adults alike.  VLC is a customizable blend of online classes and in-person support from educators.  Let us help you reach your goals.

Programs for high school students

 The Crawford County Virtual Learning Center offers a tremendous opportunity for high school students under age 19 who are looking for a flexible, supportive and accredited virtual school experience.  We even provide you a laptop to use while you are enrolled in our classes, but that’s just the beginning.

  •      Completion of your high school diploma
  •     Choice of online learning, in-person instructional support, or a combination of both
  •     Individual support and accountability with a teacher to ensure your success.

All you pay is a $15.00 technology fee each semester - all your coursework and instructional support are completely free if you live within the school district boundaries of Northeast High School District.  Sorry, we are unable to accept students under age 19 who live outside of these boundaries.

 

The yearly enrollment deadline for high school age students under age 19 is September 15.

 In order for a student to academically prepared and successful at the Crawford County VLC, students will have access to counseling services from Northeast High School if needed.  Students with IEPs that are under the age of 21 will need to contact their local school districts; the student’s IEP team will meet to determine if the Crawford County VLC is an appropriate placement for the student.

The Crawford County Virtual Learning Center is a personalized learning experience for adult learner, age 19 and over, to complete a high school diploma.  We will provide you a laptop to use while you are enrolled in our classes . . . but that’s just the beginning.

 

·         Completion of an office High School diploma, complete with a “cap and gown” graduation celebration.

 

·         Choice of online learning, in-person instruction support, or a combination of both.

 

·         Support and accountability with a teacher to ensure your success and keep you on track to reach your goal.

       All you pay is a $15.00 technology fee each semester if you choose to use our laptop, all your coursework and instruction support are completely free.

Is the Crawford County VLC right for me?

The Crawford County Virtual Learning Center provides a flexible way for students in grades 9-12 and adults to earn their high school diplomas outside the classroom and traditional schedules, but with a full range of course options and learning support.

 

Crawford County VLC students have the opportunity to earn a fully accredited High School diploma.  The program is audited annually and approved by the Kansas State Department of Education.

 

Typical Virtual Students:

·         Homebound individuals

·         Homeschool students

·         Desire an alternative learning environment

·         Struggle to succeed in a traditional school setting

 

Other Virtual Situations Students

·         Accelerated learners

·         Personal or family situation that requires frequent, ongoing absences

·         Adult learners age 19 and older, who want to complete a high school diploma

 

What’s required of Crawford County VLC students?

·         Maintain attendance and meet requirements for coursework progress.

·         Attend progress meetings on site as required.

·         Complete all proctored exams at the Crawford County Virtual Learning Center or according to virtual testing requirements.

·         Complete with student requirements for completing all state assessments.

·         Enrollment in school year, by September 15 for high school students under age of 19. 

·        Adult learners age 19 and over may enroll throughout the year.

Who can enroll at the Crawford County Virtual Learning Center?

The Crawford County VLC is available for high school students under age 19 who live within the school district boundaries of Northeast High School and has permission from the administration. 

Adult learners, age 19 and older, can live anywhere in Kansas and attend the Crawford County VLC.

 

How much does this cost?

We are affiliated with public school districts, so there is no tuition.  All you pay is a $15.00 technology fee each semester if you use our laptop; all your coursework and instructional support are provided at no cost to you.

 

When can I enroll at Crawford County Virtual Learning Center?

Enrollment is available year around for adult learners. For the best learning experience, students under age 19 should enroll for the school year no later than Sept. 15.

Crawford County VLC students under age 19 must live within the school district boundaries of Northeast High School.  Learners who are 19 years and older can live anywhere in Kansas.
